The great views of ramadevara betta

On may 5, I went for short trip to ram devara betta hill. These hilly area is same landscape shot for legendary Hindi movie Sholay.

reaching there.
Ram devara betta is situated in ramnagara .it is around 60 kms from bangalore. One can take bus to Mysore and stop by ramnagara quarters bus stop.On main road you will find a large Hanuman statue.Behind statue is road that leads to the hill
. Ramanagara betta vulture sanctuary is situated 2 KMS from main road.i reached there by 2 pm taking Mysore bus from kengeri.I walked through a village road to vulture sanctuary..

The temple
After the gate you need to walk around 1 km and the steps to top start. You have to walk around 400 steps to reach ram temple. In the right of temple there is pond surrounded by Boulders.

The views
On right opposite to temple you get majestic view of ramdevara betta hill.it fells like nature has arranged rocks of different designs to form top of this majestic hill.
From the temple you will climb on left side to see a majestic valley surrounded by lot of  hills.
Single Village road surrounded by trees around fields further bounded by green covered hills.Move further to right , you can see down backside view of temple tower from top opposite to main hills .
Main view point
There is steep climb to main view point .you have to be careful here though railing available there is a chaunce of slipping down
.There were also few insects that welcome you with little noise during start of steps..move further 20 steep steps supported by railing we get to table top of the hill..you will get 360 degrees view of hilly landscape around betta..on front you will see close view of main hill .on the back on top, you can see very dense forest in the hills.on right you will find ramangara village views from top.on left you will see hills with far away Mysore road.there a small natural pond on middle of this hill..
I was also taking group picture of few government employees who came for election duty from jharkand..I stayed 1 hr here.i came down to vulture sanctuary gate.A local who  volunteers for this vulture sanctuary gave me drop till Mysore highway.he explained me where the vultures are seen in hill.Unfortunately I couldn't see vulture as they come to rest after preying.the plantation on the hill was done in 1960s and 70s..now it's a place with great views.this place is less explored by Bangalore people but a worthy weekend hangout..

Trek to madhugiri

On Saturday morning I decided to go somewhere near Bangalore and started to madhugiri ..it's solo trek to Asia's second largest monolithic hill.there is fort built on the hill.
How to reach
Madhugiri is easliy accessible by bus from Bangalore.
There are buses available to this Place from ksrtc bus stand.you can also take bus from yeswantpur metro if you like to avoid traffic.it takes around 3 hrs from Bangalore.i started by 11 am and reached madhugiri in tumkur district by 2 30 pm.A short walk from Busstand one can reach fort entrance surrounded by big wall. Hikers are asked to give our address and contact details to police security there..last time to come back down is 6 pm.
The fort
There were three layers of fort on the hill ..there were steep steps with rail support till two layers.at second layers steps are  carved in rocks itself

there is place where there is gap on railing and you have to take support of Cable.this is considered riskiest.A tired body will liability while crossing this place.
Trek complexity is moderate.. climate was very hot that my shirt got soaked..even rupees notes in pocket got wet.
Strangers help
Two others were trekking along with me.one was atheletic who taking many risks and jumping in dangerous areas of mountain.another had moderare fitness like me 😀.we helped each other crossing 90 percentage of trek path.i would  see great views of madhugiri towns on  front side, hills around till long distances on left side ,huge lake surrounded by hills in right side.

Water...
we ran out of water as  drinking h2o a lot due to hot weather..we decided to come down since thirsty before reaching summit.goverment must create a water resources on top otherwise it's difficult for people who come here..while coming back I had a slip in a wet slippery rock. fortunately railings saved  me.. I realised there would be challenges in easier places

Alertness is key for successful trekker...
After coming down I drank a bottle of ice water  and couple of bananas which was my lunch..I ventured into madhugiri to visit mallikarjuna temple ..Then I checked my maps for good restaurants around the place.Annapoorna hotel was around half a km from temple..I  ate  fried rice my first meals by 5 pm..I walked back to bus stand to catch bus to Bangalore by 6 pm
